Agent Insured

Inclusion criteria. Nobody pays to be in the matrix.

How carriers qualify for the carrier comparison matrix, and the independence rules behind the market tracking. Read it alongside the editorial standards.

The matrix

Agent Insured follows the market for insuring AI agents in Europe. It keeps a comparison matrix of carriers, syndicates, MGAs and Lloyd's coverholders that have announced, or are writing, AI-specific liability cover reachable by European operators. The matrix is a reference for operators, brokers, risk managers and advisers assessing what cover exists and on what terms.

The analysis, the Monitor and the tools on this site are produced on an editorial basis, independent of any commercial relationship. The desk earns no commission from any carrier or broker in the matrix or the tools.

Editorial only

No carrier, MGA, broker, reinsurer or other party pays for inclusion, ranking, favourable framing or any form of placement on this site or in the matrix. Inclusion rests on the criteria below and nothing else. The commitment is set out in full in the editorial standards.

Inclusion criteria

A carrier or programme qualifies for the matrix when it meets all of the following.

Affirmative AI liability cover

The carrier writes, or has committed to write, cover expressly designated for AI liability exposure in its product documentation, as distinct from professional indemnity, cyber or general liability that may apply to an AI claim by accident. A product that relies only on the absence of an AI exclusion, with no affirmative AI cover, does not qualify.

A verifiable announcement

The carrier has made a public announcement that can be verified: a press release on its own website or through a recognised newswire, a product page with enough detail to describe the product, or a formal market document. Facts are entered in the matrix only once they have been read at the carrier's own domain. Verbal commitments, unverified reports and broker-only distribution without public documentation do not qualify.

A named product

The programme has a product name, as opposed to a bespoke arrangement that cannot be referenced reliably across sources. Where a product runs under different names in different markets, both are recorded.

Capacity that can be shown

The carrier can show capacity to write the product: Lloyd's syndicate capacity, authorised insurer status in at least one EU or UK regulated market, or a named reinsurance arrangement that supports the stated limits. Programmes backed only by surplus lines or non-admitted carriers, with no regulated EU or UK entity in the chain, are labelled as such.

Geographic reach

Every programme is labelled by the territories it serves. Programmes available only to United States or United Kingdom policyholders are included and labelled, because they show where the market is going, and the matrix says plainly when a product cannot be bought from Europe.

Commercial activity

A paid partner programme for institutional participants has been considered for 2027. It has not launched, no terms are offered, and there is no commitment to launch it. If it ever does, every paid placement will be labelled as commercial and kept apart from editorial coverage. Paid partnership would not affect inclusion in the matrix, a carrier's position in it, or the framing of any analysis, and a carrier outside such a programme would not be penalised.

What inclusion means

Inclusion means a carrier meets the criteria above. It is not an endorsement by Agent Insured or Future Proof Intelligence of the carrier's financial strength, claims-paying ability, terms or suitability for any policyholder. The desk is not a broker, a regulator, a ratings agency or an insurance intermediary. Consult a qualified broker before buying any cover.

Asking to be considered

A carrier, MGA, syndicate or Lloyd's coverholder that meets the criteria and is not yet in the matrix can write through the form on the waitlist page, beginning the message with "Matrix inclusion", with a link to the public announcement and the product name. The desk reviews every submission and follows up when the criteria are met. Inclusion is editorial and free of charge, and a submission does not guarantee it. The same form can be used to ask to hear about any partner programme, should consultation on one ever open.

Conflicts of interest

The conflicts of interest that apply to this site are set out in the editorial standards. Future Proof Intelligence is the publisher and has a commercial interest in the development of the AI agent insurance and certification market. That interest is disclosed, and it does not affect editorial decisions or the criteria for inclusion.
